Wow... Just Wow.

I've been attending Michigan football games since 1990 and watching them on TV even longer and I think I can safely say, whether in person or viewing the tube, I have never been witness to a more dickless performance from a Michigan team than the one I was subjected to on Saturday.

The second-largest crowd ever to watch a game at Michigan Stadium? A chance to win the Big Ten title, go to the Rose Bowl, and send retiring coach Lloyd Carr out the right way? Three hours of rain and snow and more rain, the hope that for the first time since 2003 Sweatervest Tressel might walk away from The Game as the losing coach?

Eh, fuck it. Apparently none of that mattered to the players. It would have been one thing if they had played hard but ultimately lost a heartbreaker (like last year). But with few exceptions, that group of pussies appeared to not even try.

I just don't know what to say. We fans did our part. We sat through the weather and cheered our asses off in a game in which there was very little to cheer. And we were rewarded with abject gutlessness.

This team should be ashamed of itself. The fans deserved better. Lloyd deserved better. Even the bucknuts deserved better. In fact, at the end of the game, I turned to the OSU fan behind me and apologized. I said, "On behalf of 100,000 Michigan fans, I would like to say that we're sorry our team did not honor our great rivalry by showing up today. Congratulations to your team and coach on another win." He patted me on the shoulder, not in condescension, but in sympathy. He understood.

That's more than I can say.
