Ray Davies of "The Kinks" fame has been shot in an attempted mugging on Burgundy. Although the Times-Picayune story on the incident says the shooter was apprehended hours after the crime, there are rumors of a mysterious, shadowy figure who was skulking nearby and remains at large. Could this have been the legendary Ape Man of New Orleans?
