I hate rap. Hate it. HATE HATE HATE HATE it.

I just needed to say that. Put on the boob tube for five minutes and some horrible rap shit will be shoved in your face. Usually it's a commercial, like those rancid new McDonald's ones, but it might also be the theme song of a show or part of scene in a movie or whatever.

Ok, call me an evil racist, but what happened to real music? Why is this tripe so prevalent? A friend of mine blames the record companies, saying that since there's only a limited amount of actual musical talent out there, it makes economic sense for them to find and hype every trash-talking no-talent hack they can find since it offers higher profit margins. That might be part of it. What's your theory? And will this shit ever go away?
